Lillie Mae Mahoney Wells, 73, transitioned from her earthly home in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Born May 28, 1944, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Keith Mahoney. She was married to the late Frank “Boy” Wells, Jr. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior, joining Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church for instruction, fellowship and service. She was educated in the Sumter County School System. Lillie was a graduate of Ebenezer High School, Class of 1965. She worked at Georgia Pacific, U. S. Textile and Manchester Farm, where she later retired in 2004. She leaves to mourn her memories: two children, Ronald (Kimberly) Mahoney of Rock Hill, Pamela (Eric) Singleton of Dalzell, and six more children she gained in her union of marriage, Darlene W. Titus of Fort Pierce, FLA, Rosaline (James) Porter of Baltimore, MD, Ernest (Patricia) Wells of Columbus, GA, Patricia Ann Wells of Sumter, Lloyd C. Wells of Baltimore, MD and Betty Jean Wells, who preceded her in death; two sisters, Bertha Bembry and Patricia Gavin, both of Dalzell; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend. Homegoing Celebration will be held Monday, July 31, 2017, 12 noon from the Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5401 Black River Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Clifton Witherspoon, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of her daughter, 2457 Trudy Road, Dalzell. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11 a. m. The procession will leave 11:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dalzell.
