Mamie Denise Johnson Fields, 44, departed her life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her home. Born July 5, 1973, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of Sammie Lee Johnson, Jr. and Annie Mae Johnson. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and at an early age she joined Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, where she was a member of the YWI. She was employed with TNG Merchandising for several years along with other occupations. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Jelisa Fields and Anthony Johnson of the home; one sister, Samantha (Harry) Lewis, Jr.; one niece and two nephews, Lekosha, Quentin and Jakari Lewis; paternal grandmother, Arthuree P. Johnson; five adopted sisters; twelve aunts; nine uncles; a host of other relatives and friends. Homegoing celebration was held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11 am from the Mt. Olive AME Church, 2738 Woodrow Road, Woodrow, with the Rev. Dr. Friendly J. Gadson, Pastor, Eulogist. The family received relatives and friends at the home, 29B Somerset Drive, Sumter. Interment was in the Mt. Olive Memorial Garden, Pear Street, Sumter.
