Ernestine Mack Davis, 57,departed this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at McLeod Hospices Hospital, Florence.
Born March 15, 1952, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Deacon Lee Mack, Jr. and Lillie Mae Mickens Mack.
She attended the public schools of Lee County and was a 1970 graduate of Dennis High School. She received a certificate as a nursing assistant in 1993 from Camden Vocational School. She was employed by South Carolina Department of Special Needs and Disabilities in Hartsville until her health declined.
Ernestine accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended Cousar Memorial Presbyterian Church (USA).
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Jennifer (Thomas) McCray and Keisha (Contrell) Gilford of Bishopville, Joselyn (Anthony) Williams of Charlotte, NC, Jesmetic Davis of Columbia, Kashawn Davis of Rock Hill, Keith and Jeffrey Davis of Bishopville; eight grandchildren, Karlef, Jalil, Tyler, Jalen, Jamesha, JaMya, Katelyn, and Jordan; six sisters, Ruth Chambers and Elma Mack of Willingboro, NJ, Rosia (Jimmy) Brown and Beverly Mack of Columbia, Lillie (Theodore) Davis and Barbara (Harrison) Williams of Bishopville; three brothers, Jimmy (Linda) Mack of Bishopville, Julius (Anna) Mack of Lamar, and James Mack of Willingboro, NJ; six aunt, Earline Mickens, Ella Carter, Anne Turner, Susie Hickmon, and Mary Ivory, all of New Jersey, Whilamenia Dixon of Bishopville; four uncles, Robert Lee Mickens of Philadelphia, PA, Wardell Mickens and James C. Mickens of New Jersey, John Henry Mickens of Bishopville; twenty three nieces and nephews; two grand aunts; two special friends, Evelyn Boone and Daisy Allen; a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Thomasina Mack; one brother, Leroy Mack and a son, Kelvin L. Davis.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 302 Woodward Street, Bishopville, with the Rev. Rodney B. James, pastor, eulogist.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Jennifer McCray, 401 Marion Street, Bishopville.
The Remains will be placed in the church 11:00 a. m.
The Funeral procession will leave from the home of her daughter at 11:30 a. m.
Floral bearers will be Class mates of Dennis High School, Class of 1970.
Pallbearers will be nephews and Class mate of Dennis High School, Class of 1970 .
Burial will be in the Thomas Town Cemetery, Bishopville.
