Helen Louise Gailliard, daughter of Lucile Baker Gailliard and the late Daniel Gailliard, was born on May 5, 1967 in Sumter. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1985. During her early years, she joined Quinn Chapel A. M. E. Church where she attended faithfully until her death. She worked as a CNA for many years until her illness. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Travoris Gailliard; a step son, Mason Powell; a special friend, Gwen Powell; three brothers, Harry (Rudine) Baker of Clarksville, TN, Daniel (Cynthia) Gailliard, Samuel Lee (Betty) Gailliard; four sisters, Vivian (Kenneth) Washington, Sr., Janie (Clint) Pack, Sarah (Anthony) Williams, Betty (Robert) Caldwell, all of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, five aunts, four uncles, other relatives and friends. Due to the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by all relatives and friends during home visitation at 1054 Porter Street, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 11 a. m., Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the Whites Cemetery, Airport Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Pastor of Quinn Chapel A. M. E. Church, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m.
