Cassandra Jean Hunter, 46, daughter of Emma Patterson and Sterling Taylor was born on December 21, 1973. She departed this earthly life on September 12, 2020. She was educated in the public schools of Essex County, New Jersey and graduated from East Orange High School, Class of 1992. After graduation, she attended Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, East Orange, New Jersey, earning her degree in Culinary in 1998. She then moved to Arlington Avenue, New Jersey, where she lived for five years. After missing her mother, Jean relocated to Sumter and there she lived out the remaining of her life. She leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Wendell Hunter, Tallaucha Hunter, Starline Johnson, Lloyd Hunter, Sheila Taylor, Sharon Taylor, Shannon Taylor; Denise Ford, Candy Taylor and Angie Brown; five children, Markice Hunter, Mardave Hunter, Marquita Hunter, Thomas Durant, Markeisha Hunter; four grandchildren, Adnovia Hunter, Kyle Addison, Malachi Allen and Emma Hunter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family received relatives and friends at the home, 467 Loring Drive, Sumter. Funeral services were held 2:00 p. m., Monday, September 21, 2020 in John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Joseph Ricks, officiating.
