Patricia McDuffie, 68, affectionately called “Trish”, was born to the late Evelyn and Willie Lewis Wilkes on May 13,1951 in Sumter. She was called to her everlasting home on Friday morning, April 10, 2020 at the Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. During her formative years, Patricia attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Lincoln High School. She later went on to graduate from New York University. Trish had an infectious laugh and a unique sense of humor that could keep one laughing for hours. There was nothing that she valued more than relationships, first with her LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST and then with her church community of brothers and sisters. She was a dedicated member of the Community Church of Praise. Her memory will be cherished by: two sons, Alejandro and Shamar McDuffie of Sumter; six daughters, Tammie McDuffie-Gilchrist of Columbia, Courtney Harris of Sumter, Sydney and Destiny McDuffie of the home, Tiffany Pollard of Rembert and Shaunice Pollard of Birmingham, AL; seven sisters, Helen Felder-Cook of Augusta, GA, Virginia Wilkes of Columbia, Bertha L. Wilkes and Pineas Wilkes of Sumter, Linda Gaymon of Newark, N. J., Genether Wilkes and Willie Mae Barr of Brooklyn, N. Y. eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, all of which were her favorite; a special sister in love, Rose Shaw of Sumter and daughter in love, Anita Johnson of Charlotte, N. C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 2460 Kolb Road, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 11 a. m., Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Park, 3001 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter, with Apostle Dorothy Maple, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m.
