Angela “Baby Girl” Rubin Nickens, 54, departed this life on February 6, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Benjamin J. Rubin, Sr. and Dorothy Johnson Rubin on November 9, 1965. She attended New York City Public Schools and later graduated from Crown Business Institute. Angela relocated to Timmonsville in which she became a member of Jehovah Pentecostal Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Claudia H. Askins. She was a choir member until she moved to Sumter and joined Jesus Precious Church under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Hendricks. She was a devoted praise team member and an usher. Angela was united in holy matrimony to William Nickens on May 19, 2018. She enjoyed meeting new people which led her and her son, Issacel to create the So Cocky Bike Club. She lived life to the fullest. Angela leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, William Nickens; three children, Issacel Rubin, Tunisha Rubin and Terrell (Melanie) Cobbs; two step-children, Indya Nickens and Josyha Nickens; three god children, Derelle Dubose, Bradley Gee and Ashley McElveen; two sisters, Diana (Julian) Rogers and Shante Rubin; three brothers, Calvin Johnson, David Johnson and Benjamin Rubin, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 2615 Stern Drive, Sumter. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p. m,. Saturday, February 15, 2020 from the Quinn Chapel A. M. E. Church, 2400 Queen Chapel Road, Sumter, with the Reverend Jerome McCray, Pastor, and Pastor Joseph Hendricks, officiating, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 p. m. The funeral procession will leave the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will follow in the Sandsbury Cemetery, Main Street, Timmonsville.
