Tommie Davis, 83, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Providence Health Hospital, Columbia. Born November 23, 1935, in Lee County, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Ruth Walker Davis. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County. At an early age he confessed faith in Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of New Haven United Methodist Church, where he was a devoted and hardworking member of the Trustee Board and the United Methodist Men. Tommie was very skillful as an electrician and most off his career he was always busy working on electrical work, whether it was working on a television or wiring a house for someone. He served honorable in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957, as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He worked for numerous years as a Television Technician at Kings Appliance Center, an Electrical and Electronic Technician at Reeves Brothers and Campbell Soup Company. He retired in 1995 after being a loyal worker at the Campbell Soup Company. Tommie was married to the love of his life for almost 60 years, Vermell Melton Davis, before her passing. They were blessed with seven children. He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Gregory Davis of the home, Willie (Cynthia) Davis of Dalzell and Thomas Davis of Saginaw, MI; three daughters, Edna (David) Wilson of Dalzell, Lorine (Theo) Isaac of Flint, MI and Yvette (Robert) Bradley of Bishopville; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eight sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at his home, 3250 Springhill Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 1 p. m., Friday, August 30, 2019, from the New Haven United Methodist Church, 3159 Red Hill Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Blondell S. Miller, Pastor, the Rev. Charlie Thomas, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the Church at noon. The funeral procession will leave from his home at 12:20 p. m. Burial will be in the New Haven United Methodist Church Yard Cemetery.
