James Keith Lowery, 83, departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2019. Born on November 28, 1935, in Sumter, he was the son of the late Mary Staley and Joseph Lowery. James became a member of Grant Hill Baptist Church after moving back to South Carolina in 2000. James leaves to mourn his memories: his wife, Virginia Lowery of Dalzell; two daughters, Lottie Lowery-Walsh (Daniel) of Brooklyn, NY and Julia Lowery of Dalzell; one son, James R. Lowery (Roxanne) of Harlem, NY; two granddaughters, Natavia Lowery and Cierah Carrow; one grandson, Russell J. Lowery; one great granddaughter, Nyla Santana-Lowery; a god daughter, Christina Laster; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 3625 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, 11 a. m. from the Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5420 Black River Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Clifton N. Witherspoon, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. for viewing until the hour of service. The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
