Jarvis Antonio McCray, 39, departe4d this earthly life on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Born on September 23, 1979, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Sidney Jackson and Azalee McFadden McCray. He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School. He was a passionate hair stylist for over twenty years. “PaPa” or “Pa”, as he was affectionately called, was loved and adored by many. He was well known in the community for his passion for fashion and his big personality. He leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Richard McCray (Charlina Lacosta) and Maurice Dicks; three sisters, Lasonya Davis (Shawn Davis), Joyce Lee and Marvell Flaughter of Georgia; a special niece, Nayla Davis and ten other nieces; a special nephews, Iverson Nelson and six other nephews; a best friend, Shirl Wilson; a host of grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and clients. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 8 Shuler Drive, Sumter. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2 p. m. from New Covenant Presbyterian Church (USA), 907 Legare Street, Sumter, with Dr. Ella F. Busby, officiating, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p. m. Burial will be in the New Covenant (Martin Town) Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
